Jigsaw Theatre Company in association with The Street Theatre presents Too Hot To Handle
- a climate change musical by Peter J Casey

More timely than ever, featuring parody and hilarity, Too Hot to Handle uses humour and toe-tapping songs
to diffuse fear and explain the science of global warming to children (and even some grown ups too!).

Somewhere in the not-to-distant future we meet Tom and Jess who need more than ‘slip slop slap’ for the outside world. Is it really too hot to handle? On their journey to discover what happened to the weather, they encounter an Ad Executive spinning a new jingle, Captain Delete and his trusty companion Backspace Boy who fight the forces of fossil fuels and the foolish Mr Quick and Mr Fix.

Be warned: this climate change musical for kids will make you laugh (a lot)… It also sold out in 2008!

“A direct and funny show that never forgets the fears and humour of its young audience”
- The Canberra Times

The excursion will teach people what goes in residential recycling bins, where it comes to, how it gets sorted, and then what it gets turned into. The other part of the tour will educate the people about where all the rubbish gets buried and how the government is setting up places/businesses to help us reduce, reuse and recycle. We will also explain how we mine for methane gas, collect leachates and line landfills to prevent damaging the environment.

Mentoring Program

This year the conference will have a mentor program to connect people new to the industry with those with some more experience. The program is designed to be clear and tangible way to invigorate the industry by helping new people to get more support and for more experienced people to pass on their knowledge and learn from the vibrancy and innovation of the coming generation.

As a mentor you will be supported with information on how to mentor and be provided with a mentee (the person being mentored) based on your experience in the industry. Your commitment is to be in contact with your mentee before, during and after the conference to help them feel part of the industry and be able to meet new contacts to further develop their career.

As a mentee (being mentored by someone else) you will receive the details of the person who is going to mentor you.
